A proxy is like having and using two different Internet accounts at the same time. Your everyday Internet account
connects to the second account (your proxy) and sends everything through it. If your Internet connection is ever
traced, or if information is requested, such as your IP address, only the second account's information is sent.
This is because it is the second account that is making the direct connection to the web page or other Internet
service. A proxy is like a middle man between you and what you connect to, that fakes your identity. When using
the proxy, others will not be able to gather accurate information on your connection.
Using a proxy is like having a second address or P.O. box address for your computer.
